Creatures and fantasy characters make up a majority of the highest-grossing films, tv-series and video games of all time, yet there isn’t enough training available to teach actors/performers how to embody these types of characters. Creature Bionics provides various workshops and bespoke training programmes to help prepare actors/performers for these specific roles.
Our programmes/workshops are suitable for actors/performers of all levels. They are also course friendly for animators who design locomotion or create their own reference material or want to have more of an insight into the performance process.
ACTING FOR VIDEO GAMES
Designed for participants who want to learn more about video game acting. The session will consist of participants developing a creature character and creating locomotion and combat movement that are required for video game purposes in motion capture, known as video game mechanics.
CREATURE MOCAP WORKSHOP
AT THE ACE RUELE MOCAP STUDIO (TARGET 3D)
This workshop is for participants who want to learn the movement required for video game mechanics inside a well-established motion capture studio. The bonus of training inside a mocap studio is being able to witness the performance on a digital avatar in real-time and participants receiving footage for reel purposes.
The arm extensions enable an actor/performer to create quadruped movement similar to an ape or a big cat. The workshop will teach participants how to use the arm extensions safely and productively. Once the participants have learned how to use the rigs, the session will move on to creature character development. Participants will have to create their own locomotion following the rules of video game mechanics.
