CREATURE WORKSHOP

The root of all our workshops is about character development through creativity, science, and play. Even if you find that creature acting isn't for you, you will leave with tools that can be used in other areas of life.
Every workshop has video game mechanics as the foundation of movement development. This means, whether you join our arm-xtension workshop or A workshop without the use of rigs, you will learn the movement required for gameplay characters, which is essential for motion capture acting.

What separates our workshops from all other creature workshops is our desire to create a space where you remind yourself of your potential and the big kid in you who has been waiting to play.
Creature acting requires the child in you to come to life; the adult you is only there to remember the techniques.

CASTINGS & AUDITIONS

Creature Bionics is not a casting or acting agency. Our system is not to provide work for actors but to aid productions with development and performance services through our team. At Creature Bionics, we have a team of actors on board for when a production makes a request for us to provide the performers alongside the services we are already providing, such as creature rigs and/or motion capture. With that being said, if we do not have someone available in our team to play the part, we will look within our network of performers to find the right candidate. This includes: actors/performers who have done our workshops, stunt performers (due to physical abilities and experience), and recommendations.

DO WE ACCEPT SUBMISSIONS?

Yes, we accept submissions because you or someone may have a skill that we need currently or in the future. If we know that someone is right for the part over someone in our team, then we will put them forward 1st. Creature Bionics is not about hogging the work; it's about providing services to produce the best performance, which could be YOU.

If you would like to submit your reel to us, PLEASE MAKE SURE your reel showcases some of the following:

  • High level of physical acting abilities

  • Animal/creature acting

  • Acting with stilts/creature rigs/practical effects

  • Physical costume acting

It does not have to be professional; it can be filmed on your phone in your garden, in a gym or in a street, just as long as you are showcasing the above. Reels that do not showcase any of the above will be ignored.
Reels that are impressive will go in our database and we will contact you if you are needed in the future.

CAREER ADVICE

We are often asked for advice on how to get into the industry or for an opportunity to work with us. Though we wish it were easy to give employment opportunities and give the best advice that would 100% “break you into the industry”, sadly, this is not true. All advice given is subjective, but we are more than happy to share some friendly advice/tips that can help get you started.
